SACRAMENTS OF FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The preparation programme requires regular attendance at Mass on Sundays where children will participate in children’s liturgy together with attending weekly preparation sessions in the Parish Room on one afternoon a week after school.
Parish Catechists are:- Liz Parsons (Lead Catechist) and Nicky Jones who can be contacted at school or Maureen Pardoe who can be contacted at the Parish.
WORSHIP & COMMUNITY
Children's Liturgy
We do not have a Sunday School but we do operate a separate Children's Liturgy during Sunday Mass where the children learn about and discuss the
Gospel readings of the day and return to the Mass after the homily to explain how they have interpreted the readings.
We have a team of trained Catechists who also prepare children for the Holy Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Weddings
St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church offers a traditional setting for your most sacred celebration.
Notice is required and plans should not be made before speaking to the Priest.
Baptisms
It is always good news to hear that parents want to have their child Baptised in our parish. You will appreciate that it is more than just a social occasion - it is a very important part of life’s journey. Baptism is a Sacrament - that is, a special gift from God. It is the traditional way in which the Church family welcomes a new member.
The best way to start this journey is to be at mass each week, showing that you are serious about wanting to be part of the parish.
