IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PUBLIC WORSHIP
Message from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, so many aspects of our lives must change. This includes the ways in which we publicly express our faith. It is very clear that, following official advice and in order to keep each other safe, save lives and support the NHS, at this time we must not gather for public acts of worship in our churches. This will begin from Friday evening, 20th March 2020, until further notice.
You can download the letter from the President and Vice President of the Bishops’ Conference and a PDF offering Liturgical Advice: Public Acts of Worship in Catholic Churches in England and Wales – COVID19
ST ANTHONY'S CHURCH will be open for private prayer between 9.30 a.m. - 10.30 a.m. each weekday and between 10.30 a.m. - 12.00 noon on Sunday.
The Diocese is hoping to live stream Sunday Mass (Palm Sunday) from St Mary's Cathedral both on Facebook and on the Diocesan website through YouTube. It is also hoped that the Triduum will be live streamed from the Cathedral in the same way. More details to follow shortly.
Alternatively, you can visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham - http://www.walsingham.org.uk/live-stream or www.churchservices.tv for live streaming of the Mass, other Liturgies and personal prayer.
Finally, please continue to pray for our clergy, our medical staff, carers and other public service workers, our community, our politicians and ourselves, that we may all play our part in getting through this difficult time.
